retain Arteta despite a disappointing season.
The Gunners fell 2-1 to PSG at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday, sealing their elimination with a 3-1 aggregate defeat.
They arrived in the French capital hoping to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit, but their ambitions fell short.
Fabian Ruiz struck in the 27th minute to extend PSG’s lead, and Achraf Hakimi added another in the 72nd minute before Bukayo Saka pulled one back late in the match.
This result means Arsenal will finish the season without a trophy, having already lost the Premier League title to Liverpool.
Since Arteta’s arrival in 2019, his only major triumph with the club came in the 2019-20 season when Arsenal defeated Chelsea 2-1 to win the FA Cup.
Though the Gunners have secured two Community Shields under his tenure, they have yet to claim another major trophy.
Despite this, Daily Mail reports that Arsenal’s board has no plans to part ways with the Spaniard in the near future.
Arteta has overseen significant investment in the squad, with over £600 million spent on signings, including the high-profile £105 million acquisition of Declan Rice.
